Radon gas is a silent health hazard. As a naturally occurring radioactive gas formed by the decay of uranium in soil, rock, and water, radon is odorless, colorless, and tasteless, making it virtually undetectable without specialized equipment. Prolonged exposure to elevated radon levels is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
